Changes in HMRC Payment Methods

Here is a summary of some important changes in HMRC payment options:

  • Effective 13 January 2018, HMRC will no longer accept personal credit cards to pay any form of tax. They will continue to accept debit cards and corporate credit cards, as well as other traditional methods such as cheque or bank transfer. For more information, click here. Instructions on how to pay HMRC can be found here. 12 January is your last day to use a personal credit card.
  • Effective 15 December 2017, it is no longer possible to pay HMRC via a Post Office.
